Trump Holds Rally in Biloxi

In case you missed "the largest campaign event in Mississippi history" yesterday in Biloxi, you can see it here. I was not able to go to Donald Trump's rally, so it is nice to have the video available. The turnout looks pretty good, although I suppose there is no way to know how many of those attending are there to see the show or how many really plan to vote for Trump. Trump's appeal, whatever you and I might think about it, appears to be alive and well as we move into 2016.

I have to admit that I find it a bit surprising that Trump would be popular here in Mississippi. He's a New Yorker, and this usually seems to be a big negative around here. But more importantly, I was not sure Trump would be able to win over many evangelical fundamentalist Christians here in the Bible Belt. I realize that he pays lip service to being a Christian, but he doesn't sound even remotely believable when he does so. And yet, it looks like he's holding his own in this segment. Still, it is difficult to imagine him beating Sen. Ted Cruz here.

Mississippi's primaries will be held on March 8. If you want some input into who will compete in the general election, plan to vote in the primary.
